		<description>This description is heartbreaking, and I think I find it more so as I have 3 girls of my own. Just 11 years old and already recognizing that power? It&#039;s the kind of thing that sends shivers down my spine. 

I&#039;m reminded of memoirs of other pain, James Frey&#039;s book -- though I HATED that it was made up and not really his own experience, &quot;Smashed&quot; and even this one, &quot;Alive!&quot; by Eileen DeClemente -- &lt;a href=&quot;http://http://www.eileenisalive.com&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt; Eileen is Alive&lt;/a&gt;. It&#039;s a harrowing, but ultimately uplifting story of a family that stays together in spite of the author&#039;s drug and alcohol issues. She doesn&#039;t sugarcoat what happened, and she details her family&#039;s pain and suffering.

It&#039;s very powerful. 
I&#039;m going to look for &quot;Loose Girl.&quot; It sounds very powerful, as well.</description>
